yes

yes
there were times
if one stopped
a moment

#raymondcarver

you

08/28/2013

took me with you

when you left

you left nothing

so we could be together

time shared

08/11/2013

inky a moment
hardly a thought
holding a hope
he may have forgot
unlike a promise
a hope does not press
it satisfies patience
the heart in the chest
a promise gets old
while a hope sings of youth
a promise gets told
while a hope is aloof

his promises broken
among those he’d made
only the tears and the hurt still remain
the hope that is his
though its promise unfilled
will lie there in wait
until he is still

and then he’ll remember
how sweet it all seems
his life and her life
and the hope
of their dream

a friend

here I am

a truth

a fact

read her words

and you’ll see that

it may not be

what it once was

it will be more

than was before

she still has me

she always will

a muse in search

a heart that’s still

a simple life

a yearning for

something less

something more

my muse she is

she sets me free

she leaves me be

my eyes can see

I simply float

above the din

among her thoughts

her arms I’m in

between her words

a stolen kiss

here I am

so let’s begin

you and I

anew

again

breathing again

08/08/2013

I run to you

every minute

everyday

and yet

I never reach you

like a dream

I’m not in

I run faster

and breathe harder

but mostly

I watch

a frustrating rhythm

teasing my mind

taunting my beating heart

stealing my breath away

still

I run

three

07/01/2013

the first
once
repeated twice
second and third

when again

06/30/2013

to say right now would not be fair ~
to ask again for a gift freely given ~
the effect of which, now a part of me ~
only deepens my gratitude for you ~
like the air I breathe ~
already I have what I want

like water

06/27/2013

fold another you into me

like rice in a leaf

the consequences

06/27/2013

The ancient eavesdropper

A
brief rift
between
dream states
of shadowy
shape-shifts,
a mental lapse eclipsed
by both sun and moon,
so weightless,
we shed
our own
self-awareness.
